Uzbekistan’s Foreign Minister Vladimir Norov on Tuesday (November 8) received the newly appointed Ambassador of Kazakhstan Beibut Atamkulov, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) reports. At the meeting, the convoy presented copies of his credentials to the head of the government department. On his turn, Minister Vladimir Norov wished Ambassador Beibut Atamkulov success in his diplomatic mission in Uzbekistan.
The two sides exchanged views on the upcoming summit of the Organization of Turkic States that is set to be held in Samarkand on November 11 this year as Kazakhstan, along with other OTS member states, has confirmed its participation in the event. Besides, the discussion covered the meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asian countries and European Union member states and the Samarkand EU-Central Asia Connectivity Conference scheduled for November 18 this year.
The Minister and the Ambassador stated that both countries are ready to increase trade turnover and implement investment projects in industry, energy, transport and logistics, and agriculture.
Besides, the two parties highlighted the importance of promoting and strengthening contacts between the regions of the neighboring countries and agreed to continue cooperation in many aspects.
They stressed the mutual commitment to intensifying cultural and humanitarian relations, including the upcoming days of the culture of Uzbekistan in neighboring Kazakhstan.
Beibut Atamkulov was appointed Kazakhstan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan in late October. He previously served as Minister of Foreign Affairs and Minister of Industry and Infrastructure Development of Kazakhstan.
