A major home appliance manufacturing plant is set to launch in the Zaamin district of Uzbekistan’s Jizzakh region, employing more than 7,000 people, the presidential press service announced following President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s visit on July 22.

The factory, currently under construction, is part of a larger initiative to transform Uzbekistan into a regional "electrical engineering hub." The project is being developed as a branch of the Navoi Special Industrial Park and occupies an 80-hectare site in the Zaamin Technopark.
With a total investment of $150mn, the facility will have the capacity to produce 1mn units of household appliances annually, including washing machines, refrigerators, televisions, and electric water heaters. The product range will include 100 different types of items, with localization reaching up to 70%.

The annual production value is expected to reach $320mn, of which $140mn worth of goods will be exported to over 15 countries, including Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan.

To enhance production efficiency and meet evolving market demands, a mold shop and a modern logistics center will be established within the complex. In addition to consumer appliances, the park will manufacture plastic components for enterprises under Avtosanoat.

During his visit, President Mirziyoyev reviewed the construction progress and received presentations on several new investment projects planned at the Zaamin Technopark. The plant’s construction was launched by the president on June 27, 2024, and is seen as a key step in boosting domestic manufacturing and export capacity.
