Uzbekistan and Hungary have agreed to deepen cooperation in internal affairs, with a focus on counterterrorism, migration management, and cybersecurity, according to Dunyo. The agreement follows an official visit to Hungary by Uzbek Minister of Internal Affairs Aziz Tashpulatov from July 16 to 19.

During talks with Hungarian Interior Minister Sándor Pintér, both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening collaboration in internal and digital security, law enforcement, crime prevention, and personnel training. They also discussed joint efforts to combat terrorism, drug trafficking, cybercrime, and address migration-related challenges.
The two ministers reviewed opportunities to share experience, introduce modern technologies, and implement joint educational programs. Hungary acknowledged Uzbekistan’s efforts in maintaining a high level of security for its citizens and welcomed the prospect of further partnership.
The visit concluded with the signing of a 2025–2026 cooperation roadmap, which outlines a series of joint projects and initiatives. Minister Tashpulatov also invited his Hungarian counterpart to visit Uzbekistan.
Beyond security cooperation, Uzbekistan and Hungary are advancing joint economic initiatives. Deputy Minister of Transport Jasurbek Choriyev earlier confirmed that the two countries are negotiating the launch of joint wagon production.
He emphasized that recent regional infrastructure developments—such as the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway and the opening of the Trans-Caspian corridor—highlight Uzbekistan’s strategic role in Central Asia.
Choriyev added that documents have been signed to support cooperation in infrastructure development and service organization. Talks are also ongoing with Hungarian investors to establish logistics centers in Uzbekistan.
