The Chairman of the Supreme Council of Karakalpakstan, Amanbai Orinbayev, visited Kostruba village, which is considered the most remote area of Takhtakopir, and Southern Ustyurt village on the Ustyurt plain by helicopter.
Kostruba is located 260 km from Nukus and 150 km from the district centre. There are only 27 houses in the village and Southern Ustyurt village is one of the scarcely populated areas in the Ustyurt plain.
Orinbayev also flew to Chukurgok in Ellikkala and Qumbosgan in Tortkol districts which are considered the most difficult sites to reach by any land vehicle. That's why the chairman has decided to meet the residents in these areas by helicopter, - officials say.
