Akmalkhan Ortikov, director of the State Assets Management Agency, spoke to the "Daryo" reporter about the process of privatization of state-owned properties at the Economic Forum of Uzbekistan started its work in the city of Samarkand that has kicked off on November 3, 2022.
“Privatization is the transfer of state-owned property and assets into the hands of entrepreneurs and real owners. It is the biggest instrument that develops the private sector.
I believe, we are creating a real sense of ownership in the community. On the other hand, there will be a certain money flow to the budget, which will boost economic growth. It occurs through the provision and introduction of certain factors. It is necessary to attract some funds and resources. "Privatization will contribute in this direction as well," Artykov noted.
Deputy Minister of Finance Ahadbek Khaydarov also informed about the expected results of the forum and the goals of organizing the economic event in general:
“Uzbekistan has faced another big problem after the coronavirus pandemic. The geopolitical situation is very controversial affecting the circulation of goods and services. Food prices are rising. Inflation is high, especially in developed countries. The cost of energy resources has increased.
In this situation, what should be the macroeconomic policy, monetary policy, and tax budget policy? We want to get answers to these questions within the forum.”
