The Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade, Jamshid Khojayev, and the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Government - Minister of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov co-chaired the 23rd meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia.
The Uzbek and Russian sides discussed trade-economic, investment, industry, transport and logistics, culture, and a wide range of humanitarian cooperation issues.
At the meeting, Manturov said that Russia is interested in supplying automobile components to Uzbekistan. In return, the Uzbek automakers can export cars to Russia under parallel import schemes.
Another important direction on the agenda was the development of interregional cooperation. It was reported that mutual visits of delegations from several regions of the two countries were organized based on previously approved plans.
As a result of the meeting, the Final Protocol and a significant set of bilateral documents reflecting the main agreements reached during the event were signed.
