Uzbekistan is allocating 2,000 places in its medical universities for Indian students who were forced to stop their education in war-torn Ukraine. The ambassador of Uzbekistan to India, Dilshod Ahatov said.
Ahatov, in response to the request of the Government of India, 2000 places are allocated by the Medical Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan for the transfer of Indian students from Ukraine.
Uzbek medical universities pledge to accept students from middle income families, and provide quality education and accommodation, the Uzbek ambassador said.
According to the Uzbek ambassador, Universities offer two undergraduate medical programs: a 6-year Doctor of Medicine degree and a 5+1, i.e., a 5-year Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery with a one-year internship, and FMGE/NEXT examination.
The ambassador handed over letters of acceptance to students who successfully passed the interview at state higher medical institutions such as Bukhara State Medical Institute and Tashkent Medical Academy.
