At the meeting of the Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojayev and the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussein Brahim Taha agreed to activate the practical cooperation aimed at expanding cooperation between OIC and Uzbekistan.
The parties also agreed to speed up the agreement and approval of the cooperation agreement within the framework of the organization of the "Khiva-IHT 2024 tourism capital" events.
Uzbekistan continues to make a positive contribution to strengthening the role and importance of the OIC today. The leadership of the organization expressed its readiness to make all efforts to develop multifaceted cooperation with Uzbekistan in the political, trade-economic, transport-communication and cultural-humanitarian spheres in order to bring the bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.
Prospects of implementing specific projects in the field of environmental protection were discussed, taking into account the measures to eliminate the consequences of the drying up of the Aral Sea and to expand the opportunities for the country's population to use clean drinking water. An agreement was reached on the systematic exchange of existing experience and advanced technologies in these areas.
