During the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to Uzbekistan on July 14, it was reported that an agreement on cooperation in the field of tourism was signed between the governments of Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.
The Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage announced that the newly signed agreement “On cooperation in the field of tourism” annuls all the previous documents.
The parties will organize international conferences, forums, seminars and exhibitions aimed at promoting the "Great Silk Road", "One trip - the whole region" and other joint tourist routes and brands, as well as publishing publications in the media.
Fully realization of the agreement will help to further increase the tourist flow from Turkmenistan to Uzbekistan, the recognition of the tourist brand of Uzbekistan in the market of Turkmenistan, and the activation of relations between the subjects of the tourism industry of the two countries.
