According to the Law "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Uzbekistan", the entities in special economic zones may be exempted from profit tax for a period of 3 to 10 years, depending on the amount of investment.
The proposal envisages tax relief in the following order:
3 years for investments up to $ 5 million,
5 years - from 5 million to $ 15 million,
and for 10 years of investments $ 15 million and above.
The law stipulates that the part of the profit tax benefits that have not been used by the participants of the special economic zones after January 1, 2020, will also be applied.
According to the press service of the Senate, the special economic zone residents will be able to save 47.9 billion soums.
The law was approved by senators on July 8.
