The Chinese firm Nanjing Huajin Bureau Asset Management has announced plans to invest up to $1bn in Kyrgyzstan's infrastructure projects. This investment will focus on key sectors, including hydropower, railway and road construction, as well as residential mortgage development.
The investment targets strategic areas of development in Kyrgyzstan. The hydropower sector will receive funding to enhance the country’s energy capacity, while new railways and road systems are planned to improve transportation infrastructure. In addition, the investment will support residential housing construction through mortgage development initiatives.
On September 10, during the International Economic Forum held at Issyk-Kul, Nanjing Huajin Bureau Asset Management signed a memorandum of understanding with Kyrgyzstan’s National Investment Agency. The agreement marks a formal commitment to proceed with these infrastructure projects, strengthening economic ties between Kyrgyzstan and China.
Nanjing Zijin Asset Management which is linked to the investment initiative, functions as an investment company specializing in infrastructure construction, energy, finance, and securities. The company provides its services across China, focusing on large-scale development projects. This expansion into Kyrgyzstan signals its growing interest in international markets.
