The winners of the International Textile Manufacturers Federation (ITMF) Awards and ITMF Start-up Awards 2024 will be honored at a special ceremony in Samarkand on September 10, 2024. This event will mark the conclusion of the first-ever joint conference of the ITMF and the International Apparel Federation (IAF), taking place from September 8-10.
The ITMF Awards celebrate remarkable achievements in the global textile industry, focusing on two main categories: Sustainability & Innovation and International Cooperation. These awards highlight the textile sector's commitment to advancing sustainability and fostering global partnerships. The winners, selected by an expert jury, will present their innovative projects in a dedicated session during the conference.
The ITMF Sustainability & Innovation Award recognizes groundbreaking contributions to sustainable development within the textile industry. Projects are evaluated on their environmental impact, novelty, socio-economic benefits, and economic viability. The 2024 winners are:
- GuoWang High-Technique Fiber Company (China) for their project, "Low Carbon and Sustainable Innovations in PET Fiber Production."
- HeiQ AeoniQ Holding AG (Switzerland) for "Hyper-Scaling HeiQ AeoniQ."
- Samsara Eco (Australia) for "Endless Plastic Recycling: A Solution for Textiles Out of Use."
The ITMF International Cooperation Award acknowledges progress in international collaboration within the textile industry, aligning with the United Nations' 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The 2024 winners include:
- DITF (Germany) and RBX Creations (France) for their project, "Next Generation Cellulosic Fibers from Hemp."
- HKRITA (Hong Kong, China) for the "Open Lab."
The event will also feature the ITMF Start-up Awards, which offer a platform for emerging companies to showcase their innovations to key industry players. The 2024 Start-up Award winners are:
- RE&UP Recycling Technologies (Netherlands) for their project, "RE&UP - Scalable Recycling Technology for High-Performance Fibers."
- Sci-Lume Labs (USA) for "Bylon - Oil and Waste-Free Melt-Spun Fibers."
- Sycoretec CAS (China) for "SYCORE-TEX - Topological Soft Gel Materials for Ultra Thermal Insulation."
- Syre Impact (Sweden) for their work on recycling textiles into new textile products.
The awards ceremony will be held as part of the joint ITMF-IAF conference, titled "Innovation, Cooperation, and Regulation — Driving Forces of the Textile and Apparel Industry." The conference, organized in collaboration with the Uztextileprom Association, will gather over 500 industry professionals, including representatives from leading global textile companies, brands, financial institutions, and retailers. Attendees will explore the latest innovations in the textile industry and foster new global partnerships.
