The total assets of commercial banks in Uzbekistan amounted to UZS 711.1 trillion ($56.2bn) as of July 2024. This significant asset volume reflects the growth and stability of the banking sector in Uzbekistan.
State-owned banks contributed UZS 475.2 trillion ($37.5bn) to the total asset volume. Within this category, the National Bank of Uzbekistan holds the largest share, with assets totalling UZS 133.1 trillion ($10.5bn). On the other hand, Poytaxt Bank reported the lowest asset volume among state-owned banks, at UZS 256 bn ($20.2mn).
Other commercial banks in Uzbekistan collectively hold assets amounting to UZS 235.8 trillion ($18.6bn). This segment includes various financial institutions that contribute to the diversity and competitiveness of the banking sector.
The total capital of commercial banks in Uzbekistan reached UZS 105.1 trillion ($8.3bn) from January through July 2024. Of this, state-owned banks account for UZS 65.5 trillion ($5.17bn), while other banks' capital totals UZS 39.6 trillion ($3.1bn). This capital structure highlights the robust financial foundation of the banking sector, supporting ongoing economic activities and growth within the country.
