Uzbekistan imported ice cream and ice cream products worth $7.5mn from January to July 2024, according to preliminary data from the Statistics Agency. Among the countries supplying these frozen treats, France contributed 53.8 tons.
In the first seven months of the year, Russia led the import charts with 968 tons of ice cream, followed by Kazakhstan with 618 tons. Belarus provided 36.7 tons, while Lithuania accounted for 17.4 tons.
This diverse range of imports highlights Uzbekistan's growing market for international ice cream brands and products.
Uzbekistan's trade with "non-traditional partners," such as China and Russia, has been steadily growing. In particular, trade with France has expanded significantly, with the total trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France reaching $689.8mn in the first seven months of 2024, a 33.3% increase from $517.6mn in the same period last year.
In just the first quarter of 2024, Uzbekistan’s trade with France surged to $337.1mn, a 63% increase compared to $206.8mn in the first quarter of 2023.
Over the past five years, the cumulative trade turnover between Uzbekistan and France has accumulated to $2.1bn, with Uzbekistan exporting $775.6mn and importing $1.3bn. France has consistently been one of Uzbekistan’s key trade partners.
Trade with the United States has also seen impressive growth, nearly doubling from 2022 to 2024. In the first half of 2024 alone, trade turnover with the U.S. reached $463mn, an increase from $282mn during the same period in 2023 and $248.2mn in 2022.
Uzbekistan’s exports to the U.S. have surged from $28.7mn in 2022 to $149.8mn in 2024, reflecting a 421% increase. This growth includes a 172% rise from 2022 to 2023 and a 92% increase from 2023 to 2024.
