Aziz Abdukhakimov, Uzbekistan's Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, and Azis Saparaliev, Kyrgyzstan's Acting Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at the Central Asian University of Environment and Climate Change (Green University) in Tashkent.
The MoU establishes a grant program that will enable students from Kyrgyzstan to study at Green University. This initiative is designed to foster regional cooperation and enhance capacity in sustainable development, environmental research, and climate change.
The signing ceremony at Green University also included a briefing on Uzbekistan's extensive reforms in the field of ecology.
During their visit, the guests toured the university’s facilities, including modern classrooms, a comprehensive library, a gym, and other amenities designed to support both academic and personal growth.
The grant program is scheduled to begin in the 2024-2025 academic year, providing Kyrgyz students with a valuable opportunity to deepen their expertise and contribute to addressing regional environmental challenges.
