Yandex Uzbekistan has announced plans to open an office in Tashkent in the fall of 2024, aiming to further develop its business operations within the country. This strategic move will not only allow Yandex to expand its team but also accelerate the launch of new products and enhance the scaling of services already available in Uzbekistan.
By setting up a local office, Yandex plans to create a more agile environment for its operations, facilitating quicker response times and better alignment with local market needs. The office will become the hub for various Yandex services, including Yandex Go city services, as well as educational, entertainment, and other offerings tailored to the Uzbek market.
In tandem with opening the office, Yandex will launch an IT internship program specifically designed for developers in Uzbekistan. This initiative aims to foster local talent, providing young IT specialists with practical experience and training. The internship program will play a crucial role in building a talent pool that benefits both Yandex and the broader IT industry in Uzbekistan.
Yandex's commitment to IT education in Uzbekistan extends beyond internships. The company plans to open new programming schools for high school students, offering comprehensive courses and materials to nurture the next generation of IT professionals. These schools will provide access to programming courses for computer science teachers and equip them with teaching materials on Python.
Additionally, Yandex will support the Technovation Girls mentoring program, which focuses on developing IT entrepreneurship skills among young girls. The program aims to empower girls to pursue careers in technology and innovation. Yandex will also conduct intensive sports programming sessions, further enriching the educational landscape in Uzbekistan.
Post the office inauguration, Yandex will begin recruiting for internships, aiming to provide substantial training opportunities for young IT specialists.
