The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan, Ruslan Kazakbaev, met with Turkey's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nuh Yilmaz, to discuss the resumption of quotas for free medical treatment, Kyrgyzstan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated. Kyrgyzstan emphasized the need to promptly resume the implementation of the agreement on cooperation in healthcare and medical sciences.
This agreement includes provisions for the annual free treatment of 150 citizens of Kyrgyzstan in Turkish medical institutions. Kyrgyzstan requested an expansion of this quota to accommodate 500 people annually.
The meeting covered discussions on the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation in political, trade, economic, cultural, and humanitarian spheres. They also reviewed the schedule of upcoming events, including planned visits and meetings at high levels.
Ambassador Kazakbaev and Deputy Minister Yilmaz also discussed their countries' collaboration at multilateral platforms, particularly upcoming events within the Organization of Turkic States. They also highlighted mutual support for initiatives within the United Nations.
Earlier, Daryo reported that Uzbekistan has been strengthening its economic and investment partnerships with Turkey and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Recent high-level visits and strategic meetings have led to agreements and the launch of numerous projects totalling over $34bn. These projects aim to enhance mutual economic growth and cooperation. For the current year, $2.5bn will be invested, including $1.5bn allocated to 13 additional projects focusing on transport, digitalization, infrastructure, healthcare, and energy.
