Bekhzod Abdurakhmanov has been appointed as the regional manager for Visa in Uzbekistan, effective immediately. In his new capacity, Abdurakhmanov will spearhead Visa's operations in the country, focusing on formulating and executing strategies to enhance the Uzbekistan market and supporting partners in meeting the escalating demand for seamless and secure digital payment options.
Abdurakhmanov brings over 15 years of extensive experience in retail banking, innovation, cards, and payment systems to his new role. He initially joined Visa in 2020 as a business development manager for banks in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan, where he played a pivotal role in fostering relationships with clients and driving business development initiatives.
Christina Dorosh, the Senior Vice President and Regional Manager of Visa in Ukraine, Georgia, CIS countries, and South-Eastern Europe, expressed confidence in Abdurakhmanov's capabilities, highlighting his track record of maintaining robust client relationships and contributing to Visa's business growth in the market.
“Behzod is a valuable member of the Visa team who has maintained strong relationships with clients and contributed to business development in the market for 4 years. We believe that in his new role he will help achieve Visa’s goals of digitalizing the economy and expanding access to financial services in Uzbekistan, ” Dorosh says.
Abdurakhmanov, in his statement, expressed his enthusiasm for continuing Visa's mission of accelerating digital transformation in Uzbekistan.

Visa opened its office in Tashkent last year, further solidifying its support for financial institutions, trade entities, and service businesses across the country.
