In an announcement made by Muratbek Azymbakiev, the head of the foreign policy department of the Presidential Administration, it has been confirmed that President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic will undertake a working visit to Russia.
The visit is scheduled to coincide with the anniversary summit of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) and the momentous Victory Parade, both set to take place on May 9 in Moscow.
President Japarov's participation in the anniversary summit of the EAEU is poised to be a pivotal moment, as leaders from member states gather to deliberate on crucial matters pertaining to the union's future trajectory. Among the key agenda items are reports on the progress of implementing the Strategic Directions for the Development of Eurasian Economic Integration until 2025, based on the outcomes of 2023. Additionally, discussions will center around the implementation of the Main Directions of International Activities of the EAEU for the year 2023.
Anticipated to be a hallmark of the summit is the adoption of several pivotal decisions and documents. Foremost among these is the approval of the draft Protocol on the electronic exchange of information between the EAEU and its member states, on one side, and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, on the other, within the framework of the electronic system of certification and verification of the origin of goods. This move underscores the EAEU's commitment to enhancing trade relations and streamlining processes through technological innovation.
In a nod to the union's decade-long journey, plans are also in place to establish a commemorative medal, aptly named "10 years of the Eurasian Economic Union." This gesture serves as a testament to the collective achievements and aspirations of the member states within the framework of the EAEU.
President Japarov's presence at these deliberations underscores the Kyrgyz Republic's commitment to fostering regional cooperation and advancing economic integration within the Eurasian sphere. His engagement in these high-level discussions is expected to further solidify ties between Kyrgyzstan and its EAEU counterparts, while also affirming the nation's role as an active participant in shaping the future of Eurasian economic cooperation.
