Uzbekistan's grandmaster Nodirbek Abdusattarov triumphs in Swedish chess tournament
The Tepe Sigeman 2024 Chess Tournament wrapped up in Malmö, Sweden, after a week of intense competition among eight grandmasters. The event, held from April 27 to May 3, saw Uzbekistan's Nodirbek Abdusattarov emerge as the champion after some thrilling matches.
Competing in the tournament were renowned grandmasters Nodirbek Abdusattorov, Arjun Erigaisi, Vincent Keimer, Zhu Wenjun, Peter Svidler, Anton Korobov, Nils Grandelius, and Marc Andria Maurizzi.
Abdusattarov's standout performance came during the main rounds, where he scored an impressive 4.5 points. In the tiebreak rounds, he faced tough opponents like Peter Svidler and Arjun Erigaisi but showcased resilience and tactical skill to emerge victorious.
