The Minister of Tourism and Sports Yermek Marzhikpayev and President of the World Ethnosport Confederation Bilal Erdogan convened at the executive directorate of the organizing committee of the 5th World Nomad Games in Astana, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Kazakhstan reported. Their meeting aimed to address various aspects concerning the organization of the forthcoming Games, culminating in the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two parties.
Key topics of discussion included strategies to broaden the participation of countries in the World Nomad Games, methods to attract sponsors, arrangements for international television coverage of the event, and facilitation of air travel for competitors. The memorandum of understanding inked during the meeting underscores the commitment of both entities to collaborate effectively in these endeavors.
The World Confederation of Ethnosport hailed as one of the most rapidly advancing sports organizations globally, has recently demonstrated its prominence through the successful 6th Ethnosport Forum held in Antalya. This gathering affirmed the organization's pivotal role in propelling the development of traditional sports and games worldwide.
Minister Marzhikpayev commended the World Confederation of Ethnosport on attaining the status of "Co-organizer of the 5th World Nomad Games," expressing confidence in the collective efforts to ensure the Games' success with broad international participation. He lauded the exceptional organization witnessed during the fourth iteration of the event in Iznik, Türkiye, in 2022, which saw over 3,000 athletes from 102 countries partaking. Marzhikpayev attributed this achievement significantly to the contributions of the World Ethnosport Confederation.
Additionally, discussions between Marzhikpayev and Erdogan revolved around the planning of future World Nomad Games. The proposal to address this matter in the agenda of the Meeting of the Ministers of Youth and Sports of the Member States of the Organization of Turkic States was also explored.
Concluding the meeting, Minister Marzhikpayev affirmed the readiness of the Games' organizing committee to host delegations from the World Ethnosport Confederation for official events. Erdogan reciprocated by expressing unwavering support to ensure the seamless execution of the 5th World Nomad Games.
