Uzbekistan has extended an invitation to employers from Germany to address the shortage of workers in critical sectors such as hospitals, metallurgy, and transport, as per to a statement from the Agency for External Labor Migration.
A meeting between Uzbekistan's Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction, Behzod Musayev, and Klaus Mangold, Chairman of the Board of German Mangold Consulting, centered on discussions regarding vocational training and the recruitment of Uzbekistan's citizens for high-demand jobs in Germany.
Furthermore, Germany has identified shortages in labor within sectors such as metallurgy, logistics, and transport, creating additional opportunities for Uzbek workers to contribute to the country's workforce.
The parties involved have agreed to expedite the implementation of these agreements by developing a legal framework conducive to facilitating the recruitment process.
However, challenges related to language proficiency have emerged as a hindrance to the hiring process. To address this issue, there are proposals to relax language requirements, particularly by reducing the duration of German language courses for prospective workers.
This initiative aligns with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's directive issued in January, which aimed to organize the training of approximately 100,000 Uzbek citizens for employment opportunities abroad through organized recruitment efforts. Subsequently, the agency announced plans to recruit 50,000 individuals to fill vacancies in Germany.
