Minister of Poverty Alleviation and Employment Behzod Musayev from Uzbekistan held a crucial meeting with Professor Frederik Wenz, Director General of Freiburg University Clinic, to discuss the rising demand for medical professionals from Uzbekistan in Germany, the government portal of Uzbekistan reported.
The meeting primarily focused on reinforcing cooperation between the two nations in the organized and legal migration of labor. The discussions also delved into extensive efforts to teach the German language to Uzbek citizens seeking temporary employment in Germany, aligning their education with German standards, and developing a comprehensive strategy to attract them to work in the country.
During the meeting, Frederik Wenz highlighted a critical shortage of over 10,000 medical workers across 11,000 medical institutions in Germany. He expressed the urgent need for a substantial number of medical professionals from Uzbekistan to fill this gap. Additionally, Wenz noted a heightened demand for other professions such as cooks, drivers, and technicians to work in medical institutions.
In a joint agreement, both parties decided to implement training programs for medical workers in Uzbekistan, teaching them the German language and providing education based on German medical standards and methodologies. This collaborative effort will be carried out in partnership with Freiburg University Clinic, with a focus on enhancing the qualifications of personnel to meet the specific needs of the German healthcare sector.
The initiative aligns with the broader strategy of promoting legal and organized labor migration, fostering bilateral ties, and addressing the critical shortages in the German healthcare workforce.
Earlier Daryo reported that Uzbekistan's Minister of Agriculture, Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov, held discussions with Ophelia Nick, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the German Federal Minister of Food and Agriculture. Minister Abdurakhmonov underscored the importance of enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany, particularly focusing on the significance of joint efforts in scientific and technological advancements within the field of agriculture. The meeting concluded with both parties presenting multiple proposals aimed at advancing their collaborative efforts, covering aspects like scientific research, technology transfer, and the promotion of sustainable agricultural practices.
