This unfortunate event echoes a similar occurrence in January 2024 when the body of another Uzbek woman was discovered in a resort in Sonepat, Haryana, India. In that case, authorities suspected carbon monoxide poisoning as the cause of death for the 32-year-old victim.
Sonepat Sadar police station in-charge Karamjit Singh told reporters that the exact cause of their deaths can be ascertained only after the post-mortem.
“Forensic experts were called to the spot. They inspected the room and collected evidence. We also recovered a liquor bottle and certain other things from the room. Himanshu’s family members have reached the spot and their statements are being recorded,” he said.
