In 2023, Uzbekistan marked a significant milestone in its electronics industry by exporting more than 230,000 televisions. The total export value amounted to $52mn, reflecting the country’s growing influence in the global electronics market.
Russia: The Leading Importer
Russia emerged as the undisputed leader in importing televisions from Uzbekistan, with more than 120,000 units sent. This aligns with the data showing that Russia’s television imports were reported at $388,160 in December 2022, and the country witnessed a surge in smart TV sales in 2023.
Turkey: The Smallest Importer
On the other end of the spectrum, Uzbekistan exported the least number of televisions to Turkey, with a total of 1,300 units. Despite this relatively small figure, it’s worth noting that Turkey’s television imports have been fluctuating over the years.
Central Asia’s Television Market
The television market in Central Asia, including Uzbekistan, is projected to reach a revenue of $260.6mn in 2023. This indicates a potential for growth and expansion in the region’s electronics industry.
Kazakhstan reported exports at $270,385 in December 2022. This records an increase from the previous number of $37,878 for December 2021. While in Kyrgyzstan, television exports were reported at $978 in December 2022. This records an increase from the previous number of $179 for December 2021.
Tajikistan’s television exports were reported at $1,139 in December 2022 and $3,340 in December 2021
