In 2023, IT Park residents saw a significant increase in the export volume of services, reaching $344mn, a growth of 2.4 times compared to the previous year, Kursiv reported. Of the total service exports, 57% ($196mn) were attributed to service companies, while product companies and resident companies providing Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services accounted for 23% ($79mn) and 20% ($69mn), respectively.
The services of IT Park residents were predominantly utilized by customers from the US ($151mn), UK, EU ($82.5mn), and CIS ($69mn).
Growth in resident companies
By the end of 2023, IT Park housed 1,652 resident companies. Among these, 523 were registered in the regions and 1,129 in the capital. The majority of these companies were service companies (890), followed by product companies (400), and educational companies (362). Additionally, the number of firms with foreign capital in IT Park reached 426.
In the last year, IT Park residents contributed to the economy by providing services worth UZS 12.5 trillion.
Demand in IT sector
In the IT sector of Uzbekistan, the most sought-after roles were programmers and developers, making up 31% of the total number of vacancies on hh.uz. Designers and artists (12%) and technical support staff (7%) were also in high demand. The most lucrative IT professions in the country were programmer, data scientist, and designer.
Employers in the IT sector prioritized work experience and completed projects when hiring IT employees. According to HeadHunter, the IT market in the country has been dynamically developing, providing ample opportunities for career growth.
