Uzbekistan aims to supply early-harvest potatoes to Kazakhstan, Dunyo reported. Representatives from Uzbek companies UZTRADE and UZKAZTRADE, with the support of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Aktau, recently embarked on a working visit to the Kazakh cities of Atyrau and Aktau.
In Atyrau, the delegation engaged in discussions with Marat Murziev, Deputy Akim of the Atyrau region, and Amantai Aitbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Social-Entrepreneurial Corporation “Atyrau”. The focus of these meetings was the exploration of potential avenues for mutual trade development.
Presentation of Uzbekistan’s export potential
During the meeting with Zhumabay Karagaev, First Deputy Akim of Mangistau region, the delegation presented information on the export potential and investment attractiveness of Uzbekistan. This data sparked significant interest from the Kazakh side.
Karagaev noted that 80% of agricultural products are imported to the region and expressed a strong interest in establishing cooperation with Uzbek entrepreneurs. The parties agreed on the development of contractual terms of long-term cooperation of agricultural products exported to Mangistau.
The Uzbek delegation visited the large wholesale trade centres “Kaz Fruit Company” and “Asar-S” in Aktau, where they held meetings with the managers and assessed the demand for agricultural products and the competitiveness of their national products. During these meetings, the delegation reached an agreement with “Kaz Fruit Company” on the supply of early-harvest potatoes from Uzbekistan.
