President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President Sadyr Japarov held a telephone conversation on January 26, to discuss the ongoing development and expansion of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. The press service of the Uzbekistan President reported the key highlights of this diplomatic exchange, highlighting the positive state of bilateral relations.
The leaders expressed satisfaction with the existing strategic partnership, emphasizing the strong and comprehensive ties between their nations.
Both presidents stressed the importance of maintaining close relations and exchanges between governments, departments, regions, and business circles. They committed to joint efforts to increase mutual trade and support collaborative projects in industries such as automotive, electrical engineering, textiles, and agriculture.
Discussions also, included infrastructural projects in the Central Asian region, with a focus on collaborative efforts. The leaders also considered plans for future meetings to sustain an active and ongoing dialogue.
Earlier Daryo reported that Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, addressed the economic viability of the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan railway. Japarov stated that the project is expected to recoup its costs within a timeframe of 35-40 years. The successful realization of this initiative is anticipated to position Kyrgyzstan as a transit state. Japarov underscored that the funding for the project would not rely on foreign loans, emphasizing a self-financing approach.
