Sardor Rustambaev, the newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Uzbekistan, arrived in the capital of India, Dunyo reports. Rustambaev, 45, brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge in international relations and diplomacy.
A Distinguished Academic and Diplomatic Career
Rustambaev is a graduate of several prestigious institutions. He holds degrees from the University of Birmingham in the UK, the Tashkent State University of Oriental Studies, and the School of Oriental and African Studies of the University of London. He also studied at the Academy of State and Social Construction under the President of Uzbekistan. Rustambaev has an academic degree as a candidate of political sciences.
He has been working in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs system since 2000. During his tenure, he held various positions in the central office, ranging from attaché to department head. Rustambaev also served at the Embassy of Uzbekistan in the UK and the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing, China. From 2018 to 2023, he headed the Embassy of Uzbekistan in France.
A New Chapter in Diplomatic Relations
Rustambaev replaces Dilshod Akhatov, who served as the head of the diplomatic mission in Delhi from 2020 to 2023. Akhatov was appointed as the Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Germany in September 2023.
