The state-owned company of Uzbekistan, UzTemiryo'lkargo (UTY Cargo) has initiated negotiations with China's Shandong Port Logistics Group. This development was part of a working trip led by Oybek Jabarov, the deputy head of the UTY subsidiary, and Bekzod Kholmatov, the director of the Center for the Study of Transport and Logistics Problems under the Ministry of Transport. The discussions took place during their visit to the Shandong Port Logistics Group office in Jinan on January 18, press service of UTY Cargo reported.
This move follows earlier discussions between the Uzbek delegation and Jiayou International's head, Men Liang. The primary focus of the talks revolved around enhancing multimodal transportation along the China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan route. Moreover, the participants explored the potential integration of digital solutions for the management of warehouses and logistics centers. In wrapping up the productive discussion, UTY Cargo and Jiayou International solidified their commitment to collaboration through the formal signing of a memorandum of cooperation.
Shandong Port Logistics Group is a state-owned company established by the administration of Shandong province in 2019. Operating key ports such as Qingdao and Yantai, the company handled a substantial cargo volume exceeding 1.6 mn tons in 2022.
