Representatives from the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Istanbul engaged in a productive meeting with the leadership of the International Research Centre for Islamic History, Art and Culture (IRCICA), Dunyo reports.
During the meeting, both parties explored avenues of cooperation between IRCICA and relevant departments in Uzbekistan. Discussions encompassed the organization of international events, publication of a book, symposiums, competitions, and research initiatives in Khiva, designated as the capital of tourism and culture in the Islamic world for 2024.
Professor Mahmut Erol Kilic, the Director of IRCICA, highlighted the pivotal role of Uzbekistan's ongoing reforms in fostering the development of culture, history, art, and education across the Islamic world.
The diplomatic mission representatives familiarized themselves with the library, printing house, and research center at the IRCICA residence. It was mutually acknowledged that conducive conditions have been established for students and researchers from Uzbekistan, facilitating unhindered access to education. Uzbekistani students actively participate in online training courses, particularly in the field of calligraphy.
In addition to educational collaborations, the parties explored opportunities for joint presentations and exhibitions featuring the works of Uzbek poets, writers, scientists, and artists.
