On December 18, the Demo Day for the mGov Award competition's third wave was held at Aloqabank's headquarters, showcasing the best mobile application developments. The competition, supported by IT Park, the Ministry of Digital Technologies, and the UAE government, featured presentations from 20 projects, evaluated against four criteria: application relevance, project result achievability, user-friendliness, and application completeness, IT Park reports.
The overarching goal of the competition is to encourage youth participation in collaborative work with the government and the creation of innovative solutions to enhance mobile public services. The most outstanding solutions developed will be integrated into governmental institutions.
The total prize fund amounts to $100,000, to be distributed among the top three winners:
- 1st place: $50,000
- 2nd place: $30,000
- 3rd place: $20,000
Twenty participating teams were pre-selected by specialists from the UAE and Uzbekistan across six areas:
- Distance learning
- Human resources and well-being
- Tourism potential enhancement
- Road safety assurance
- Entrepreneurship and e-commerce opportunities
- Ecology and environmental protection
Distinguished representatives from Uzbekistan and the UAE comprised the jury:

- Mirolim Abdullaev: Representative, AloqaVentures
- Rano Sidikova: Representative, Plug&Play Uzbekistan
UAE Jury Members:
- Mushira Al-Zarouni: Acting Chief of Service Efficiency Department
- Amira AlKetbi: Head of Service Channels Evaluation Department
- Anwar Yusuf: Senior Project Manager
Following the jury's assessments, seven standout teams were selected as winners:
- Drivesafe: An application using video monitoring and alerts to prevent accidents caused by drowsiness, acting as a vigilant system alerting to signs of fatigue.
- Guide Me: A service employing artificial intelligence to provide information about tourist destinations and historical figures in Uzbekistan.
- Logo Smart: An innovative online program for correcting speech defects in children using artificial intelligence.
Other notable projects included the Maydonium sports ground booking platform, the Milliy Pay fast money transfer service, the School of Autism application for children with autism spectrum disorders, and the Voltiva electric vehicle charging station service.
The award ceremony for the winners is scheduled to take place in January 2024.
