Analyzing the breakdown of service distribution, in 2022, more than half of IT service exports were linked to Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). The current breakdown is as follows:
- Software Development: 42%
- BPO: 20%
- Licensing: 15%
- Technical Support and Enhancement: 14%
- Game Development: 9%
Earlier Daryo reported that the ICT Week expo, backed by the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, unfolded on October 25 in the capital. The IT Education Association spearheaded the exhibition. The primary objective of ICT Week was to provide a platform for showcasing the achievements of modern technologies and innovations. It encompasses a series of events, including summits, forums, business meetings, job fairs, and more.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has also witnessed significant growth in the IT sector, marked by a surge in the number of companies from 147 in 2017 to 1600, and a tenfold increase in jobs, exceeding 24,000. Industry exports, reaching $600,000 in 2017, are projected to surpass $300mn by year-end. The country has climbed 18 positions in the UN e-government ranking in 2022, securing the 69th spot. Ambitious plans are in place to enter the top 30 by 2030.
