As part of a dedicated working trip to the Naryn region, President Sadyr Japarov officially opened the refurbished headquarters of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic, the president’s press service reported. The president, in a ceremony held on December 21, commended the efforts of the national security agencies and extended his congratulations on their professional holiday.
President Japarov underscored the crucial role played by the national security agencies in maintaining the stability of the country's vital institutions and fostering an environment conducive to the creative endeavors of the people. He expressed confidence in the continued dedication of the security personnel to their tasks, emphasizing their commitment to serving the people and the Fatherland with honesty.
During his trip, President Japarov highlighted a recent visit to the Torugart-2 checkpoint on the Kyrgyz-Chinese border. This checkpoint, now reconstructed and operational, was previously under the state enterprise "Customs Infrastructure." The president acknowledged the challenging climatic conditions of the region, situated at an altitude of 3,700 meters above sea level, and praised the updated checkpoint's modern amenities, including a revamped heating system.
Recognizing the importance of strengthening border infrastructure, President Japarov emphasized the contributions of the customs service to the national budget. He affirmed that the enhancement of such checkpoints is critical, especially considering their strategic locations along international borders.
"National security agencies are entrusted with the tasks of ensuring the security of the country and the integrity of the region, strengthening law and order, the state, society and stability. We managed to do a lot of work towards improving the labor and social conditions of law enforcement officers," President Japarov stated.
Turning his attention to the Naryn Department of the State Committee for National Security, President Japarov applauded the department's accomplishments in safeguarding Kyrgyzstan's borders with China since gaining independence. He highlighted the department's achievements in maintaining stability during various socio-political situations, combating religious extremism, and preventing corruption.
The president revealed that the Naryn Department's building, constructed in 1988, had not undergone renovations in 35 years. In a bid to improve the working conditions for the dedicated security personnel, Lieutenant General Kamchybek Tashiev initiated the renovation project. The initiative successfully attracted sponsors, resulting in the complete refurbishment of the building, an additional construction of over 500 square meters, and the creation of summer sports grounds.
President Japarov expressed optimism that the revamped facilities would enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the Naryn Department in addressing internal and external threats. In his closing remarks, he extended his best wishes to the department's employees, hoping for their continued success, good health, and prosperity.
