A high-level delegation from Uzbekistan, comprising key representatives from the National Office for the Implementation of Innovation and Technology Transfer under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, and the Tashkent State Technical University, is currently in Japan to explore collaborative opportunities in education and innovation. The visit is part of the ongoing project "Innovative Approach of Research Institutions in Management," the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported.
The delegation, led by Farkhod Jumayev, Director General of the National Office, Sardor Donayev, Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation of the Tashkent State Technical University, and Saidmurad Niyazbekov, Director of the Uzbek-Japanese Youth Innovation Center, recently visited the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) headquarters. The delegation engaged in discussions with JICA Deputy Director General Daisuke Ueda, where information was shared on the successful collaboration and progress made during the project's first stage.
The ongoing second phase of the project focuses on strengthening ties and expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the field of education and innovation. Discussions included key areas such as enhancing collaboration with JICA, attracting volunteer teachers to the educational process, and organizing short-term educational programs and courses.
The delegation also seized the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the activities of the University of Tokyo, a prestigious higher education institution in Japan. Both parties expressed interest in jointly preparing scientific projects, facilitating scientific internships for master's and doctoral students, and providing opportunities for internships and work at university enterprises.
Earlier, a crucial meeting was held between Komiljon Karimov, the First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovations of Uzbekistan, and Ogasahara Kenji, the Director of Central Asia and the Caucasus Division of East and Central Asia and the Caucasus Department of JICA. The focus of the discussions centered on exploring collaborative efforts in the field of mechanical engineering. The dialogue aimed at evaluating the feasibility and mutual benefits of this initiative, setting the stage for a potential collaboration between the two nations in the crucial domain of engineering education.
