The Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has announced a significant move to impose export restrictions on 57 Russian enterprises, with a focus on those associated with the military and high-tech industries.
Additionally, companies from other countries, including two from Uzbekistan, are included in the sanctions. Alfa Beta Creative and GFK Logistic Asia, both based in Tashkent, are the first Uzbek companies to face sanctions in Japan.
The sanctions also extend to 19 Russian individuals and 43 legal entities, with frozen assets and placement on "black lists." Notably, Japan has introduced a ban on the import of diamonds from Russia, excluding industrial diamonds.
Alfa Beta Creative and GFK Logistic Asia, according to the USRPO, share a common legal address and were established in Tashkent, with both being linked to Oleg Grabilin, who serves as the head of Alfa Beta Creative since its registration in 2022.
This move comes after both companies faced U.S. sanctions in April for allegedly procuring goods for the Russian defense industry in violation of existing sanctions. Subsequently, the European Union also imposed export restrictions on these entities.

GFK Logistic Asia, incorporated on March 28, 2018, with an authorized capital of UZS 200mn ($16,265) , focuses primarily on providing land transport services
