To foster resilience and prosperity in Afghanistan, the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Centre (KSrelief) are making substantial progress through The Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund (AHTF), IsDB reports on LinkedIn.
Under the auspices of KSrelief, seven projects are currently in various stages of implementation, addressing critical areas for development. Here are some highlights of the featured projects:
- Tackling Food Insecurity: AHTF is actively engaged in initiatives aimed at addressing the pressing issue of food insecurity, ensuring that communities have reliable access to nourishment.
- Supporting Mothers and Newborns: Vital health facilities geared towards supporting mothers and newborns are being established, emphasizing the importance of maternal and infant health.
- Restoring Infrastructure for Clean Water and Sanitation: Recognizing the fundamental need for clean water and sanitation, AHTF is working on projects to rebuild essential infrastructure, contributing to the overall well-being of communities.
- Boosting Economic Opportunities: Several projects are underway to stimulate economic opportunities, empowering local populations to build sustainable livelihoods.
And more groundbreaking initiatives are being undertaken as part of this collaborative effort.
IsDB points out that the Afghanistan Humanitarian Trust Fund plays a pivotal role in contributing to the country's long-term development, providing hope and tangible improvements to the lives of Afghans. The commitment of the bank's partners, especially the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia's KSrelief, is instrumental in realizing these transformative projects as per the report.
