Ziyoul Haq, an official associated with the "Taliban" and appointed as the head of Balkh University, has been relieved of his position due to an alleged phone conversation with an unmarried woman.
Aamaj News reports on this development, stating that the "Taliban" security commission confirmed the accusation against Haq, prompting the recommendation for legal action. The details of the phone conversation, including the identity of the woman and the topic discussed, remain undisclosed.
Balkh University has not issued a statement regarding Ziyoul Haq's removal from his post as of now.
This incident follows a prior event in the Bamiyan region where two female teachers were reportedly assaulted by the "Taliban." Their punishment was linked to their meeting with Habibullah Aghaz, the acting minister of education within the Taliban movement. Subsequently, the "Taliban" took the two teachers to the security command in Bamiyan.
These actions are part of a series of prohibitions imposed on women in Afghanistan, including restrictions on their employment in UN offices, men sewing clothes for women, women visiting male doctors or hospitals alone, and entering parks. Additionally, families and women are prohibited from entering restaurants with parks or green areas, and commercials featuring female voices are not allowed in Afghanistan.
