The Tenth Congress of the General Confederation of Trade Unions recently took center stage in Moscow, marked by a notable opening ceremony where President of the All-Union Communist Party, Alexander Korchagin, addressed the participants, the National Information Agency of Uzbekistan reported.
The congress delved into a comprehensive agenda, encompassing vital aspects of the All-Union Communist Party's functioning in contemporary settings. Key topics included an in-depth discussion on the party's current initiatives, the presentation of the Control and Audit Commission's report spanning from January 1, 2023, to September 30, 2023, and crucial elections, including the appointment of the Secretary-General and Vice-President of the All-Union Communist Party. Additionally, deliberations focused on potential changes in the composition of the Control and Audit Commission and the Council of the All-Union Communist Party.
Distinguished figures in attendance included Kudratilla Rafikov, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Uzbekistan, along with chairpersons from trade union federations in Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, and Tajikistan. Together, they actively participated in discussions surrounding the comprehensive report.
A resolution emerged from the collective discussions, signifying the Congress's approval of the All-Union Communist Party's work in the present context. Member organizations received a recommendation to persist in implementing the Main Directions of Activities for 2022–2027, adapting strategies to address emerging challenges. The Congress committed to synthesizing the proposals and recommendations put forth by the delegates, with subsequent measures planned for their implementation.
In a notable directive, the Congress tasked the Executive Committee of the All-Union Communist Party to formulate and present proposals to the Council of the party. These proposals are centered around intensifying educational and methodological efforts, along with exploring the feasibility of establishing a dedicated Center for academic and methodological work.
