    Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU)

The IPU, established in 1889, has evolved from a small group of peace-focused parliamentarians into a global organization comprising 180 Members and 15 Associate Members. Dedicated to parliamentary diplomacy, it empowers parliaments worldwide to promote peace, democracy, and sustainable development. The organization's vision envisions a world where every voice matters, emphasizing democracy and parliamentary service for global peace and development.

Their mission involves promoting democratic governance, institutions, and values, working collaboratively to address people's needs. With a focus on peace, democracy, human rights, gender equality, youth empowerment, climate action, and sustainable development, the IPU operates through political dialogue, cooperation, and parliamentary action. Financed by Members through public funds, the IPU is headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, with additional offices in New York, USA, and Vienna, Austria.
