Uzbekistan's Minister of MIIT, Laziz Kudratov, recently discussed potential collaborations with Gabriella Lonkay, the Director of Business Development at the Hungarian company "Inpark." The talks focused on expanding cooperation, including the prospect of signing investment agreements, MIIT of Uzbekistan reported.
In 2022, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban discussed expanding their countries' strategic partnership, with a focus on economic, investment, and trade collaborations. The leaders aimed to increase bilateral trade to $500mn and identified key sectors for joint investment projects, including pharmaceuticals, agriculture, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, transport, and digitalization.
Earlier in 2023, Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Budapest and held a crucial meeting with Prime Minister Viktor Orban on August 19. The discussions centered on enhancing trade, cultural ties, and regional collaboration, highlighting the dedication of both nations to fostering strong relations.
Established in 2016, Inpark manages industrial zones spanning 900 hectares across 17 cities, hosting major companies like Airbus, Honeywell, and Bosch. The discussions aim to pave the way for investment agreements, introducing new technologies and involving foreign companies in joint projects within Uzbekistan.
Earlier Daryo reported that Laziz Kudratov, Uzbekistan's Minister of MIIT, actively promoted economic collaborations at the 39th OIC Standing Committee meeting in Istanbul, Turkey.
