President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan met with Mongolian President Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh during a practical visit to the United Arab Emirates on December 1.
The discussions primarily focused on advancing the longstanding friendship and multilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Mongolia. Both leaders placed special emphasis on implementing agreements made during a previous meeting held in Samarkand last September.
Positive developments in mutual trade were highlighted with satisfaction, underscoring the shared commitment to fostering economic collaboration. The leaders recognized the vast opportunities for cooperation in various sectors, including livestock, food, leather, agrarian, and textile industries. The meeting also explored the potential for strengthening contractual and legal frameworks in areas such as automobile and air communications, tourism, and the enhancement of interregional and cultural-humanitarian relations.
One notable outcome of the discussions was the decision to convene the first meetings of the joint Intergovernmental Committee and the Businessmen's Council in the coming year. This step is expected to provide a structured platform for furthering bilateral collaboration. As a result of the meeting, the leaders agreed to formulate a "roadmap" outlining the path for the expansion of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two nations.
