In a significant diplomatic encounter, the government delegation of Uzbekistan engaged in high-level talks with the Prime Minister of Mongolia, Luvsannamsrayin Oyun-Erdene, on October 26 at the state residence "Ala-Archa" in Bishkek. The meeting served as a testament to the growing and mutually beneficial relations between the two nations.
The meeting between the delegations from Uzbekistan and Mongolia underscored the continued development of bilateral relations. This meeting follows the historic summit between Presidents Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan and Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh of Mongolia, which took place in Samarkand last year and laid the foundation for strengthened ties between the two countries.
The discussions centered on the future tasks and commitments required to ensure the implementation of agreements reached at the highest levels. Both parties acknowledged that the current volume of mutual trade does not fully realize the potential of the two nations, and there is substantial room for growth in this regard in the years to come.
Uzbekistan emphasized the need to expedite the process of signing a program for the development of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, highlighting the importance of strengthening economic ties.
In addition to this, the meeting saw the proposal to organize the first meeting of the Intergovernmental Joint Commission and the Uzbekistan-Mongolia Business Forum in Tashkent, aimed at fostering a more robust economic partnership between the nations.
Throughout the discussions, the delegations exchanged views on vital aspects of cooperation spanning diverse sectors, including agriculture, industrial cooperation, trade, transport and logistics, cultural and humanitarian collaboration, tourism, and ecology. These discussions underscored the comprehensive nature of the partnership and the intention to broaden their collaboration to encompass various domains.
Furthermore, on October 24, President Sadyr Japarov of the Kyrgyz Republic received Prime Minister Luvsannamsrain Oyuun-Erdene of Mongolia, marking an official visit aimed at fortifying the bonds between their respective nations. President Japarov expressed his eager anticipation of President Khurelsukh's forthcoming return visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, underscoring the profound trust, shared understanding, and harmonious alignment of positions between the two countries on a wide array of regional and international issues. The president reiterated their unwavering commitment to mutual support in matters of significance and acknowledged the vast reservoir of untapped potential inherent in their relationship.
