At the invitation and initiative of Azerbaijan, a delegation comprising representatives from the President's Administration of Uzbekistan, AOKA, media professionals, the Association of Non-Governmental Non-Commercial Organizations of Uzbekistan, and NGO leaders is currently undertaking a practical visit to Azerbaijan.
The primary objectives of the visit include familiarizing the delegation with the cultural achievements of the Shusha and Fuzuli districts, exploring the activities of non-governmental organizations, understanding the state-supported modern media system, and facilitating the exchange of experiences.
On November 27, the inaugural forum for the collaboration of Azerbaijani-Uzbekistani non-governmental organizations took place at the freely constructed School No. 1 named after Mirzo Ulugbek in the city of Fuzuli. Otabek Khusanov, the Director of the Public Fund for the Support of Non-Governmental Organizations and Other Institutions of Civil Society under the Oliy Majlis, along with Azamat Pardayev, Head of the Center for Analyzing Democratic Processes, Bobur Bekmurodov, Chairman of the National Movement "Yuksalysh," and Shirin Abidova, Director of the Association of Volunteers of Uzbekistan, participated in the forum. The event began with paying respects to those who lost their lives in the battle for the liberation of Karabakh.
Speakers at the forum highlighted the enduring solidarity, brotherhood, and close friendly relations between the Uzbek and Azerbaijani peoples. They emphasized the necessity and significance of enhancing cooperation not only at the governmental and institutional levels but also among non-governmental organizations, initiatives, and associations to further strengthen bilateral relations in the future.
Additionally, leaders of Uzbekistan's NGOs provided presentations on their activities during the event. The forum concluded with representatives of civil society from both countries addressing the pesidents of Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. The visit is scheduled to continue until November 30.
