Bakhtiyor Ibragimov, the extraordinary and autonomous ambassador of Uzbekistan, officially presented his credentials to the Austrian president, Alexander Van der Bellen, during a ceremony in Vienna, Dunyo reports.
During the credential presentation ceremony, the ambassador engaged in a discussion with the President of Austria. Various contemporary issues related to bilateral cooperation in political, economic, cultural-humanitarian, and other spheres were deliberated upon.
Concluding their conversation, the President of Austria extended congratulations to the ambassador for his new appointment, expressing optimism that his diligent efforts would contribute to the further enhancement of the multifaceted relations between Austria and Uzbekistan.
Daryo reported earlier that prior to assuming the role of Uzbekistan's ambassador to Austria, Ibragimov served as the country's permanent representative to the UN in New York from 2017 to 2023. With a career spanning back to 1992, he has held various positions within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving in both the central office and Uzbekistan's embassies in the USA and South Korea.
Concurrently, Abat Faizullayev, who previously served as Uzbekistan's ambassador to Austria and acted as the ambassador to Hungary, has been appointed as the country's ambassador to Italy.
