The Committee for the Development of Competition and Consumer Protection has announced a reduction in the daily limit for the purchase of AI-80 gasoline on the commodity exchange. From November 22, the limit has decreased from 10 tons to 4 tons for gasoline produced by the Bukhara Refinery.
This decision was made following an analysis and subsequent appeals. Fuel producers Seg Tasco, Natural gas stream, and New Silk Road oil and gas have been exempted from this change, maintaining their daily limit at 10 tons.
The reduction in the daily limit was requested by representatives of gas stations, who argued that the fuel scarcity had led to the closure of some stations and long queues at others. Brokers on the commodity exchange also reported a decrease in buyers due to restrictions on the purchase of AI-80 gasoline.
Energy Minister Zhurabek Mirzamakhmudov attributed the imposed restrictions to efforts to combat price manipulation, emphasizing that there is no shortage of gasoline.
