Saudi Arabia has offered Turkmenistan to hold the next, 7th meeting of the intergovernmental commission in December 2023, local TV channel Altyn Asyr reports. The Turkmen delegation was also invited to participate in the International Economic Forum to be held on the eve of the bilateral talks.
These issues were discussed via digital communication by Turkmenistan's Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov, who oversees the oil and gas sector of the economy, with Khalid Al -Falih, Minister of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
"In order to strengthen and expand co-operation between the Saudi Fund for Development and Turkmenistan, issues related to the direction of investment funds were raised."
Experts said Saudi companies are watching the development of the Turkmenistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan-India (TAPI) gas pipeline project.
King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud has expressed his personal support for the project, which began in 2015. The Saudi Fund for Development financed the purchase of pipes for the Turkmen section of the pipeline. The supply contract was signed with the Saudi-German Global Pipe Company.
