On October 11, Thursday, at 05:12 AM local time, another powerful earthquake, measuring 6.3 in magnitude, has struck Herat in Afghanistan, as reported by Daryo correspondent in Afghanistan.
The tremor was felt not only in Herat but also in various regions, including the city of Mashhad in Iran, and the Afghan provinces of Farah, Nimroz, and Badghis.
In the aftermath of the earthquake, electricity has been cut off throughout the city of Herat, and there have been reports of collapsed buildings, with people trapped under the rubble. Details about casualties are currently being ascertained.
On the same day, in the Rabot Sangi district of Herat, three consecutive earthquakes occurred within half an hour, with the first registering a magnitude of 6.3, the second at 5.4, and the final one at 4.1, as per reports.

Earlier, on October 7, Herat in Afghanistan had experienced a 6.2 magnitude earthquake, resulting in the tragic loss of nearly 2,000 lives.
