After the earthquake that struck Herat this morning on October 11, the local media reported that some walls of Herat's mosque collapsed. According to locals, following today's earthquake, initially, it's been reported that one person died, and at least 55 people were injured.
Reportedly, the epicenter of this earthquake was located 28 kilometers east of the city of Herat, with a depth of 10 kilometers beneath the Earth's surface. The earthquake also affected the road between Herat and Turkmenistan.
Earlier, Daryo reported that at 05:12 AM local time, another powerful earthquake, measuring 6.3 in magnitude, has struck Herat in Afghanistan.
Following the earthquake, there has been a citywide power outage in Herat, and there are reports of buildings collapsing, leading to individuals being trapped in debris. Information regarding the number of casualties is presently under investigation.
On that very day, in the Rabot Sangi area of Herat, three consecutive earthquakes took place within a 30-minute timeframe. The initial earthquake was recorded at a magnitude of 6.3, followed by a 5.4 magnitude tremor, and the last one measured 4.1 in magnitude, according to reports.
