In a bid to further solidify the cultural, humanitarian, and tourism bonds between Uzbekistan and China, Assistant to the President Saida Mirziyoyeva held a productive meeting on October 28 with a delegation from the People's Republic of China (PRC). At the helm of the Chinese delegation was Minister of Culture and Tourism, Hu Heping. The outcomes of this crucial meeting were shared by Saida Mirziyoyeva herself via her Telegram channel.
The discussion primarily centered on strategies to enhance the existing cooperation between the two nations, with a particular focus on cultural events and the preservation of ancient cultural heritage sites.
"In particular, we discussed in detail the implementation of planned joint projects on the organization of various cultural events in Uzbekistan and China, as well as the preservation of ancient cultural heritage sites," Mirziyoyeva voiced.
This meeting builds on the growing partnership between Uzbekistan and China, which was evident at the opening of the "Archaeological Cooperation - One Belt, One Road" exhibition at the end of September, where Saida Mirziyoyeva and Minister Hu Heping initially crossed paths. It is a testament to the commitment of both nations to work together to preserve their historical and cultural legacies.
In addition, Saida Mirziyoyeva has been actively engaging in discussions with various international partners to promote cultural cooperation and heritage preservation. On October 3, she had a significant meeting with the general director of the Aga Khan Foundation for cultural issues. During that meeting, the primary focus was on the "Historic Cities" program of the Aga Khan Foundation, which has been successful in implementing projects for the restoration of cities and historical monuments worldwide.
On October 18, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev of Uzbekistan graced the One Belt, One Road international forum with his presence in Beijing. He delivered a compelling address to an audience of global leaders and dignitaries. The central theme of the forum revolved around the ambitious vision of constructing the "Green Silk Road," a forward-looking initiative designed to catalyze international collaboration in the pursuit of a sustainable and environmentally friendly future.
